Went out for a bit before the rain hit. Found a few relics. Best score of the day was this silver watch back. My guess its made from coin silver.
enjoy,

Great lump of silver !!! :icon_thumleft: :headbang:

Keep @ it and HH !! :D ;D

Good Job :icon_thumright: I'll bet the rest of that old gun was ornately decorated just like the trigger guard! Make you wonder what the whole gun might have looked like back then :icon_scratch:

CHEERS :coffee2:

Awesome Relics! First screw down I've seen, Nice firearm piece

Is that NO 1 on the watch back. That would have been nice to find the whole watch if that was the first one out of the factory for that model. Either way nice silver! congrats

Maybe $$ wise the silver is better but to me the trigger guard is tops!!!!Very nice piece!!Wonder where the rest of it is??

Definitely a muzzle loading rifle or musket trigger guard. The hole in the front is for a sling swivel. Civilian guns mostly didn't have slings, so odds are it's off of a military weapon. That's a neat find. I've found a few gun parts, but never the entire thing.

If one could find enough of those trigger guards they would make some very interesting drawer pulls.....Great finds you got there...
