Checked out a new spot today. Found mostly junk, bullets, and clad but also found a nice looking 1920 Merc dime! Might have to explore this place a little more.

Some GREAT FINDS !!That bullet is sure deteriorating . Thank you for sharing with us

Amazing coin. This is a 1920 MS-66 from the PCGS web site. The wing on liberty’s head is even more detailed on your coin than this 66. I’m thinking that could be a proof strike. You definitely need to send your coin in to be graded.View attachment 2212202
Thanks! Do you think the coin's value is more than the grading fee? I've never had any coins graded, but it looks like they charge $50-$75.

I don't think it would be worth it, mainly because it's a dug coin and as such it will most likely be labeled "Environmental Damage" which would decrease its otherwise value, if it wasn't a dug coin it could maybe be worth having it graded.

If you don't have one already you may find a friendly coin dealer who will send you coin in with theirs. Takes longer maybe, but dealers often get a discount. If that works out just make sure you have good detailed photos. If you have cleaned it with anything other than hand /dish soap and water you'll lose value. That's not my expert advice, just what I was told when I had a dealer send in my coin.

Thanks for the feedback. I only rinsed it with water, so ok there.
