This is an open field that I've wanted to detect for a few years now. It's situated between two old limestone buildings, one is a water tower, the other is a farmhouse.
I was able to detect this site for 2hrs today before the rains came. There's been a lot of soil disturbance in the field in between the two structures and the majority of the finds came from near the farmhouse. :icon_scratch:

The pocket watch is nickel-plated on brass and has a locomotive engraved on the back cover. My last 'keeper' of the day was a 1910 'King Edward VII' Penny!
I also found part of a skeleton key, a squished bullet and a rose head nail. I'll tumble the remains of the pocket watch to try and get more detail.

Thanks very much for looking and Happy Halloween! :blob8:

You're not a man if you don't have at least one black fingernail bud lol. Or a split forehead with some hammer claws ha ha

I guess you were the guy with "a split forehead with some hammer claws'! :laughing7:
The problem with black fingernail bruises is they take months to grow out!

I edited my post so you could see my injury. Pictures with a thousand words

Nice finds! The coin is in awesome shape! I hope the pockets watch has some engraving on it that would be so cool!
I see you have trained the AT Pro to find to find treasure on it's own, it's out in the field searching, hopefully it digs it up too! :laughing7:

Thanks for your post MsBB!
The AT is a very easy machine to use and great at finding brass, bronze & silver!
Unfortunately, I don't dig enough of the lower tones, this is why I haven't found any gold this year. :dontknow:
I dig all repeatable signals no matter what the numbers are, but I tend to listen for the tone first, then I look at the VDI.
If I could just train the AT to pick up after my wife, I'd be a happy man! :laughing9:

That's a great looking NS cent you found bud. Funny that the only holed coin I've found is the same as yours....and we both drink beer at the Sea Dog lol
Oh man did you have to post that pic, I just ate breakfast! :laughing9:
I'll be in Maine in late November or early December for company meetings... I always look forward to a visit to the Sea Dog downtown Bangor!

No more hammers for you Abe!

A picture certainly says a thousand words! :occasion14:
I'll let you know when I'm coming to Maine, although my schedule is usually pretty tight with meetings and all.

Congrats on a really productive day, nice assortment of quality finds! ;-) Was there a railroad station or tracks nearby?

Great pix, great finds and too bad about your boo boo. I had many of those in my 32 years of commercial roofing. Those Canadian Pennies are cool looking.

There was a railway line near by, within 1/2 a mile.
The tracks were pulled up back in the 1920's 0r 30's to encourage growth in the downtown core.
The 'winder knob' on top has been pulled out of the watch, so I like to think that maybe he was in a hurry to get to work and lost it! :icon_scratch:

Thanks for your interest 49r Relics,
Dave

Yeah, these things look gross, but it's almost like a badge of honour for a guy! :laughing7:

Best of luck to you bud,
Dave

Nice looking Eddie LC! The pocket watch is a cool find, if only more would show up it'd be great.

You probably recognize this site eh, I definitely thought there'd be more to find here.
Think I'll try closer to the house on my next trip to K'town... cold weather permitting of course! :laughing7:
