Yesterday I noticed that one of my old pounded sites just had the soybeans cut so thought I'd get out for a bit. Hit an area in the field where a late 1800s home used to be. Had walked through there before but not much had ever turned up. I decided to slow down in the trash and started making a few finds including 3 IHs, a shield nickel, a nice musketball and a couple of buttons. When I was cleaning up the stuff today I realized one of the buttons had some gilt so I jellied it. I was a little surprised to see what was revealed. Never seen anything like that before. Nothing great, but thought it was rather interesting and humorous. Anyone else ever dug one of these?
