found at revolutionary war site

Not sure what it is..found this about two months ago..Since the weather has me in thought I would go through my finds...any help would be great..I believe its pewter. .and its about the size of a silver dollar. ..Thanks for looking.

Looks brass or copper-alloy to me. Its either 18th C gun furniture or maybe a furniture fitting.

I think its shape would suggest it did, I'm just not that familar with gun parts they rarely turn up here.
