This was found in orwell Vermont. The land has a revolutionary war trail where I found it.

I’m guessing it is an end piece from horse “tree”. Used to rig the harness for pulling. Here is a similar one I found on-line. There were many different styles at one time.

Possibly some type of wagon or cart tack for hooking chains or straps to it to be pulled either by horses or oxen maybe even some type of plow
