Found First Seated in a SMALL way!

Just finishing up a quick sunrise hunt when the wife texted me the kids were up and I had to help get them off to school. 20 feet from the end of the row I get a high tone on the Deus. It gives me a double signal so I know it's less than an inch down. Saw a small disc which appeared silver, but this place never gives up silver, only 1600's and 1700's coppers. Boo hoo, right? Gave it a light rub and I see "half dime"! Wahoooo - first seated and it's one of these little guys. Great condition too. Too bad it has the arrows but whatever. I was so pumped I was yelling "f yeah! Seated baby!" in the car on the way home. Check that one off the list...

It's a pretty little coin. And it sure has some good detail. I guess it's time to expect a bit of silver between colonial copper now. Good luck!

Congrats on the half dime. Agreed, they are pretty small. I have only ever found one, an 1872.

I hear ya. This was always one of those coins that other guys find, not me, and then I got one! It was so friggin small I thought it was a rivet when I first saw it. I got home and showed it to my daughter in the kitchen and she immediately
dropped it next to the sink. I thought it was going to go down the drain!

That's my first and only one. It seems '53s are common first half dimes that I've seen on here. Great find though. I love that silver!
