Thanks for the link no such luck on that particular crown marking still a nice find in a old field
 

It's a Crown hallmark. It represents that the ring is made of gold. Silver would have a Passant or walking lion. If there is a set of three numbers stamped anywhere that would indicate exact carat.
 

What's that sign on the fence post? A zombie scarecrow? :laughing7:
