Found in backyard

I found this in my backyard.
It was 4 inches down.

my house was built in 1940.

Anyone ever seen anything like this
theres a baseball player, a baseball middle right, background it shows bleachers(top behind players head) 2 little tips at top like something broke off.
i see no letters or markings of any kind

could it be a medal? Maybe what broke off was the loop that the ribbon would have gone through.

I 'm thinking the same thing.If it were a medal,I would think it would have some type of lettering ( a date or something) to signify it's importance as a medal (championship game or such).This being said,many medals were often times worn as watch fobs also around the turn of the 20th century.
