I found this dark purple marble in a Cedar Shingle Mill that operated between 1900-1920.
I found a child’s porcelain play tea pot and this marble near each other which leads me to believe it was a little girls. The width is almost 7/8” so it seems larger than the ones I remember. With a cellphone flash light you can see a purple glow, but the light won’t pass through with normal sunlight. 2FE52D0B-09DF-4272-995D-58B292ADA664.webp What can be said for this marble? I feel pretty lucky to eyeball this find while metal detecting.8E478298-8D62-442E-9704-5BB8A31F97DF.webp
I can say without question this marble is 100 years old, is there anyway to guess how old it could be? Thank you for any assistance A9721246-895B-4DAA-B865-6CDF09809E38.webp

I have no idea how to age marbles, but its an awesome find

Hello Highnam!

Cool find, that's a slag marble. It was made by the Akro Agate company in the teens or 1920s. Looks like it's in good shape! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Cheese!
I was amazed that a ID can be made, such a thrill, now I see why people collect marbles...these things are gorgeous!
The last time this was played with was 100 years ago!!

Great I'd again love to learn
