I collected these fossils a few weeks ago while visiting my son in eastern Kentucky. This is my first time finding the fossil corals both free of matrix and composed of what appears to be chert.
On our farm in central Kentucky its full of similar fossils, Some with bones of smaller animals, ( maybe dinosaurs lots of petrified wood, Kentucky is definitely a great place for geology, mountains to the East , to the rolling knobs and flatlands of central Ky . Lot of banded agate close to you in estill county
