The object is approximately 5” long with a 1 1/2” diameter and weighs 1 lb. 12.5 oz. It may be hard to see from the pictures but it looks like it was cast/made unevenly down its length because it overlaps slightly. I'm thinking maybe a clock weight???

I think if you clean it up a little it has holes in it and possibly a channel down the backside. After cleaning it may help us to I.D.

Looks to me like it could be a piece broke off of a cast iron tractor engine. Seems strange to be square on one edge only.

Hmmm must not be square... ?

Looks square with pyramid top to me... course I did not enlarge it.
