I finally got into the river to dive and for some bottle digging in an area that previously gave me CW Infantry coat buttons. When low and behold I dig this tiny cuff button between two submerged logs and under 2-clay pipe bowls about a foot into the bottom. Research states it is a pre Civil War, Civil War era Massachusetts Volunteer Militia cuff button-WOOHOO.

Thank you for the info Gary, its been a while since I posted anything. This was an awesome little discovery in 15' of water and a foot into the bottom.

Sweet find! I dream of taking a trip from Cali out to some old civil war sites. Amazing history out there and some well preserved relics! Nice save!

What an incredible find! And still in pretty good shape considering it was in the water. Congrats. -Lisa & John
