Found Megan's Gold Chain at the Beach Today!!

Hit 2 beaches early this a.m. Figured it would be good since we've had some rough surf this week. Couldn't get in the water cause it was still a little to rough so I had to hunt the wet sand which I really don't like to much.

The Excalibur gets a little heavy and I have tendinitus in my elbow so it starts hurtin after a while.

Anyway spent about a half hour at the first beach. Found a 3-4 ft cut and thought It'd be good ....Wrong! No targets so I packed up the truck and headed north to a spot that I've been gettin a lot of gold at that no one seems to hunt. Good Move!!

Spent about an hour there and was getting a lot of "greenies" so I knew there had to be some gold.

Found this 14k gold chain and pendant that says Megan. Was pretty deep. Weighs 13dwt/20.1grams. Definitly made my day. Hopefully the rest of the weekend will be as good, but don't think the ocean will be calm enough for mask and snorkel.

great find.......and the tendonitis i have myself. 2 hours of detecting today with a numb right hand and didnt find a single penny! try ice on it for a hour at a time and alot of ibuprofen.

Whitesid, Greenies are green quarters in the water. These are quarters that have been buried deep, and I guess they turn green from being buried so long.

When you start hitting an area with a lot of greenies it's usually a sign that a lot of sand was moved away making the deep stuff closer to the surface.

Excellent chance of finding some gold if you hit the spot hard.

Great find. The balance extention rod for the excal will help your elbow. Kellyco has them.I take Ibuprofen before starting, does help.

If the action is slow on a beach, I've found treasure by hunting the paths leading to a beach. It seems like not many hunt there and sometimes there are coins and jewelry there.
I was amused to see how many have tendonitis in the elbow! I've had it for a few weeks and know it came from swinging a MD, but I can't quit! Maybe the winter weather will force me to heal. It's stupid to be wincing from pain while having fun.
