That Barber quarter looks like either 1865 or '85.

Antiquarian,barber quarters were first made starting in 1892....just so you know ;D

The last number is an 8

I think your looking at the 2 cent piece. The barber quarters were made from 1892-1916.

Agree ??? That coin is really eaten up ??? What kind of soil was it in? I didn't know silver could take such a beating ??? Not picking on your finds, just I have never seen a coin in that state.
