Decided to go out for an hour and try my new hunting spot. I found about 6 broken regular points, but I was told that bird points were found there as well, and that's mostly what I hunted for today as I had never found one yet.
After about 15 minutes of looking at tiny flint pieces, I popped one out and there she was.

Absolutely flawless and perfect, made out of a striped novaculite that this scanner didn't do justice for the pic. It is serrated on both sides, and while it looks at first glance that part of it is missing, it isn't, it was made that way. WOOHOO!

Nice find. They are the hardest to find but sometimes the nicest. Congrats on your first of many.

Thanks for the comments y'all. :icon_thumright:

It's pouring rain here now, so hopefully I'll get to hit my construction spot and load up in a day or two. Employees there have told me that during previous projects, they would walk out there after a rain and fill up a coffee can with just the whole points. :o

Nice find, Scotto. Although they're called 'bird points', they were used to kill buffalo and deer.
