I was heading to one promising detecting place, but I decided to stop try a woods what was on the way to that main spot. Well I stayed in that spot so long that I never got that exact place ::) Something about six hours detecting, until sun went down. Well must get in that place soon. Cant wait to do that.

Well this time I was deep in the woods and found some amazing places to detect. First couple of hours brings only junk. But then I found a strange place on the hill were was a spikefence and lots of different junk. After a little detecting I found this cache :) My heart was beating when I saw the little red tobacco box and when picked it up felt how heavy it was, so theres something inside. Well, opened it quickly and saw very strange items. 4 little, heavy rusty balls and somekind clip with little hole, any idea about these things ??? ??? Well I thought that them must be some little kid toys who have hide the box while ago. Well that was my cache, not much but very thrilling :D Found some cool coins too and very many relics, not pics added of them. This adventure in the wood was also very cool cause found these strange places like that long fence, must be something to do with army maybe.. Also found hundreds of old razor blades wich I took and throwed in trashcan. Then there was this old sewer system burried quite deep. It was so old looking when I opened it that I was 100 % sure that I did found a treasure, not :'( weel maybee some day.

Im in hurry now so here comes the pics..

Good Job! What a nice surprise. I think once you get going on knowing where to look you might come accross another good one.

Nice post and finds.

I bet you were pretty excited when you found it.

I like the 1896 penny. It looks good. I'd check that area over well.

Congrats on your first cache...still looking for mine!

I was wondering what part of the World you may be hunting in...the fence is definitiely European...and was certainly built to keep people out (or people in)...looks Military...are you near any NATO training areas?

The "little iron balls" look like they might have four ridges cast into them running from one apex of the sphere to the other...distinctively look like cluster bomblets...if they are...I WOULD LEAVE THEM WHERE YOU FOUND THEM!

They are too far deteriorated by the looks of you pictures to tell if they were training bomblets or the real deal...and just failed to go off...very common occurance with bomblets...alot of duds.

The plethora of razor blades certainly indicates a military training area.

Good luck and don't play with any munitions.

I live in Finland. That fence is certainly made to keep people inside cause theres another one next to it, so its a square. Fence is very high also.

"cluster bomblets...if they are...I WOULD LEAVE THEM WHERE YOU FOUND THEM!" What are these? Well, this my little red tobacco box is on my kitchen table right now and those 4 balls are inside it....

By the looks of the picture...I thought that I saw "ridges" cast into the steel balls...if it has any kind of ridge cast into it (to impart spin in the bomblet to arm it)...when it is released from a cluster bomb.

Cluster bomb drops from the aircraft and at a certain altitude above the ground the shell opens and these bomblets tumble out over the intended target...don't mean to worry you, but it looks as though there are ridges cast into these.

What you should ask yourself is...Where did I find them? What was the area used for? If it is/was a bombing range, then somone found them and put them in the tin box...I would just be very careful about what you dig up...alot of those things are duds...but certainly could still detonate given the right circumstances. GOOD LUCK!
