I found one last week by accident. I had heard of them before, but didnt really get it till I read the info inside the geocache & looked it up. Needless to say, I'll be asking for a GPS for my B-Day!

I hate to ask a dumb question, but what is a Geocache?
I know a Geo is a car, so is a Geocache a hidden Geo? ;)

Its alot of fun and gets you out of the house, and into an Ind/Jones mood :D :D

here is a web site, http://www.geocaching.com/

and you don't need a big buck GPS...

:) :)10 so far :D :D

The trouble with geocaching is that it take valuable time away from metal detecting. Actually it sounds like a lot of fun. There are a lot of caches around the area where I live, and there is a local club that gets together to go searcing.

I also found one by accident while looking for deer.

Thats funny I accidently found a deer while looking for a cache :)

I had no clue to what this was till I saw the post, and looked at that website. I put in my zipcode and this is what popped up...

This Cache is hidden in Ticfaw State Park so there will be a $2 entrance fee to get in the Park. While you are there you can have a picnic, canoe, visit the Nature Center or Camp.

The Cache is hidden off one of the Park's hiking/biking trails. It is an easy walk to the hiding place. Please be discreet when visiting the cache. After please make sure the cache is put back in it's hiding place and well hid.

The Cache contanier is an Ammo Can painted black:
Original Contents:
Geocaching Letter
Log Book & pencils
15 Homemade key rings made From Beads

Enjoy the cache make your trades and sign the log book.

This park is 3 miles past my house. Interesting to see this cache buried there.

My question is, if it is against the law to MD in our State Parks how can they dig such a big hole to bury a ammo can?

;) RR

Found one at a torn down school the other day with Danny64 and his wife. First one I found without actually looking for it! Musta been good luck, cause I found about a buck in clad laying all around it, most without my metal detector even.

It was full of McJunque, unfortunately. :-\

The one I found by accident was in plain view sitting on top of the ground. Same thing- full of McJunk. I didnt have anything to trade so I left a cigarette.(before I quit). I may set one out on one of my long swamp walks and dare anyone to find it. ;D
