I called oldjerseygirl up and we went checking on our soybean fields. I'm trying to set it up where I can invite a bunch of people to hunt these fields with us. The fields are still in beans, so hopefully I'll get a call soon. We left there and went knocking on some doors. Finally got permission to do a very old house, late 1700's, early 1800's. I had that feeling it was probably a place that had been pounded by detectors in the past. My CTX managed to pull this tiny silver thimble out of its dirt nap. I got a 13-45 at seven inches. It was down easy eight or nine inches. The only mark on it is a 6. Another site I wish I could have been at in the 70's, I bet it was loaded with 1700's coins and relics!
Enjoy the pix

Yeah, I never had China doll hands, now they look like farmers hands straight from the earth!

Awesome! You picked a gorgeous one for your first silver thimble.

That's a beauty open-top thimble!!

Ya know, I hadn't thought about it but in all these years I've never found a thimble. :)

Nice save!

Thank you gentlemen!

Nope, grasshopper. "luck" has nothing to do with it, we've paid our dues. I once worked 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 6 months!!

Now.....it's your turn in the box. ;)

UNLESS! You find Blackbeard's treasure! LOL

That's the one good thing about getting older ~ you only have to work the long hours if you want to. I used to work 164 hours every 2 weeks. That's a month and 4 hours OT for most folks. Money is wonderful, but if you don't have time to spend it, what good is it lol?

Nice thimble. Can't wait till I can find one in great shape. I've only found them crushed, bent, flattened and damaged by fire.

I use to hate working all those hours and then looking at my pay stub to see Uncle Sam smiling at my tiered arse.

When we were building the Taj Maja in AC i worked 7 months of 7 days a week. The last 3 months 16 hrs a day.
That was just one job in 1989.
Nothing lucky about it, i paid my dues. I didn't make it out with Vino today. It rained all day at that site. I went to a cellar hole near me.

While i was sewing yesterday i was using my thimbles. I prefer my open end one when i need to cut thread allot.

C'mon Dave, I'm a dirty filthy roofer like Abe said. I don't know why, i guess it's too cut thread? Ha lol

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Thimble my butt. Looks like a little people cookie cutter to me!
