Excitement was definitely rushing over me when I swung my metal detector over the ground near my house. My metal detector received a high pitch tone mixed in with a middle tone. It was a weird signal and kept coming up as coins and aluminum/zinc. At first I wasn't expecting it to be a coin but still the excitement retained. That old coin symbol can be deceiving but i continue to dig anyway. With my hands shaking nervously, and hoping it wasn't a pull tab, I dug only about an inch deep. I swung over the hole and received no signal so I swung again over the small lump of grass i pulled out. Boom, the signal popped up and it was a beautiful sound. Excited, thinking this maybe it, the big one I've been waiting for. After removing some dirt from the roots of the grass, I at last found it. A shiny round object that turned out to be a 1942 silver Mercury dime with a D mark. Yep, that's right, I found my first silver after 4 years of metal detecting. I've always dreamed of finding one of these someday with my metal detector and now i finally got my chance. I Found it near my house on the side of the driveway and this has recently been a good hunting spot so far and I'm gonna continue looking there tomorrow now that the weekend is here. So for the time being, enjoy!
