Wasn't that logo a gas station back in the 40's and 50's. Flying A gasoline. Otherwise it looks like a lipstick tube.

I was thinking mabey it's a personal seal or an offical seal? Or maybe a stamp?

Does this come apart? How long is it? How many pieces? Solid or hollow?

Can you post a pict of it laying down?

Ditto about the lipstick tube. I found a 1941 lipstick tube and it was skinny like yours. A lot smaller than today's lipstick containers.

Just throwing this out but during the 40's the girls did use lip liner which is smaller than regular lipstick. My wife uses lipliner and its in a skinny lipstick tube.

I only have what I'm guessing is one half. There's nothing inside so it appears to be the lid and not the base. I guess it could also be just a container. I've seen similar (smaller diameter) used for holding a thermometer. I still think its a lipstick lid. But I haven't found the company. Definitely not Avon.
