The 20¢ coin is obvious. Except, I couldn't (at least so far) find a version with the Chinese characters on the back. I found several with different backs. Does anyone know ifthis is typical with money from Hong Kong; meaning do they have lower standards than our mint?

The token is probably contemporary. However, all the similar tokens had dates on them. HS anyone found non-dated tokens and does it mean its newer or older?

Thanks.

Thr token and coin were found separately on the same beach. Not likely that they're connected. I check Google for that info...thanks.

1 July 1997 Hong Kong was returned to Chinese rule. Have no idea what their money looks like now, but I'll bet the Queen
isn't on it. I was there in the late 50's and the exchange rate was $5.80 Hong Kong to $1.00 American. It was a great liberty
port, and I've never been so rich in my life. I have some good sea stories from Hong Kong, not really fit for this forum though.
As far as typical Hong Kong currency, sorry I can't help you.

There are plenty of examples of Hong Kong 20 cents pieces like yours around. The token is just a common arcade version made recently. Here's a link to the Hong Kong coin....

Thanks. I was pretty excited until I saw the date. In the sand it looked pretty good. As for the token, virtually every token I've found has had a date on it. It seems like 1991 was one of the most common. I'm sue it contemporary. There is a entail place right where I found it that does parties and stuff. I'd bet money that is the source. Oh wee.
