What the Heck are these? Found near where Confederates had cannon placements. Early wood found at dumping site behind newer landfill refuse. Please tell me what you think they are?? They are steel and weigh about 20 Lbs each. Very Heavy. Found first one sticking out of ground then stacked buried about 5 inches down,mostly in one spot.Near Savannah Ga

Haven't a clue. Hope someone here at TNet will be able to help.
 

just a wild guess but the curve to them makes me think they may be wheel weights of some sort. possibly from old farm equipment.
 

They are from a Battleground site that had cannon emplacements. There is a heavy equipment tractor trailer place nearby but they look pitted heavily to be modern???
 

Welder6g asked me (elsewhere) if this find has anything to do with artillery, due to nearby civil war artiilery emplacements. I do not recognize them as any kind of artillery equipment, or pieces thereof. Sorry I can't be of any help in this case.
