Got to go out Wed. It was a good day ! nice weather, and some relics. Only 1 coin ,a 1946 wheatie in great shape, wasn't in circulation long. Buuuuuuut when I found this printing block for THE MAY,something kept naggin at me,I just knew I had seen this before. Went into my Antique newspaper collection this morning, and found this ad from the April ,21, 1903 Cripple Creek Times. The ad and the print block are together again after 108 years. The May Co was at 3rd & Bennett in Cripple Creek Colo, which went on to become the " MAY D & F " we know today. This is one of the things that makes this hobby really fun for me !!!!!!! Now I have to get to work building a display for them. HH

i got to visit cripple creek back in 2008, and i must say it was an awesome drive down into the town!! This is a very cool find and reuniting! Congrats and happy hunting!

Thanks for the replies. I've run into a little trouble figuring out how best to display it ,as the newspaper is complete and the ad is on the back page, don't want to cut it out. Maybe a good quality print of it in the frame instead, but then it's not the original displayed with the print block. Totally undecided, anybody have any ideas ???

Excellent sleuthing! I dug a Gold Cure printers block that I spent hours trying to get a match-up, all to no avail.
