Found silver in the mud , Rings #3 - #6 for 2016

Last year here in San Jose ,California it didn't rain one day in January . This year it rains almost every day ! . I got out yesterday in between the storms for a hunt in the mud . I went back to a school that has always been good to me . I thought I would dig all low VDI numbers hoping to get the gold ! Only 15 minutes in I had a mixed up VDI , +20 - +45 . When I saw a gold chain in the plug my eyes popped ! Well it was just a played junk chain with a junk ring on it . After that I found some game tokens , mood ring , Mexican coin and a cross . Then it happened again ! Vdi was +18 and when I dug the plug I saw a gold ring ! NO !!!! It was other plated piece of junk ! It was a small ring with an opal looking stone . After that I thought I would start looking for silver . Finally I got a sweet +81 at 2 inches , Silver ring , first of 2016 ! When it was all done I had $9.63 in clad in two hours .

Awesome post Pl8man, The gold may have not been real, but it shows you were listening for the good stuff. Congrats on the silver ring and that clad haul. Sounds like you had a fun 2 hours. I have only been averaging about $1.25 per hour my last 2 hunts.

This time I was in Santa Clara , right up the street from Levi Stadium . I might hunt one more weekend there and then it will be crazy with the Super Bowl in town !

Hello Pl8man,

Congratualtions on the finds and variation of hunting style.

Last Sunday, I did the same thing and worked a school looking for mid-tones only. I found lots of nickels (no surprise) and two nice gold rings and chain.

Of course, I dug lots of foil, pull tabs and pencil eraser tops.
