At my favorite stomping grounds I found two different neckerchief slides. One went to hell while the other is in decent shape. Scored a few bucks in clad too, but on my last hole I snapped the blade on my trowell :angry4: boyscout.webp

Nice I love scouting items! The first is a Wolf neckerchief tie (circa 70's) and the other is a standard one! Good finds I never thought about searching scouting sites. HH

Nice finds! I found an identical like the one on the left (woif scout) couple of years ago in a school yard.
Kids drop any & everything, eh.

Sorry 'bout your trowel. :icon_thumright: on the slides.

Thanks Temp, I thought that True Temper Planter's Pal would last for years.....thankfully it has a 10 year warranty :happysmiley: Going to call customer service and see about getting it replaced for free. fffff.webp

WELCOME TO T-NET! :icon_thumright: :hello: My son wore a Wolf slide when he was cub scout in the 70's, still has it. Glad your trowel has a guarantee! Mine is more generic, a garden store "bulb planter" but is tough, does the job and was cheap. Irony is that last year digging a small, iron-infested beach where I had NO good finds, my last dig of the day produced yet another steel-blade trowel from about 3 inches under the sand, so I guess some irritated detectorist had gotten fed up with trashy finds & pitched his trowel, lol.
You will be digging many more groovy things in the future! HH Andi

I agree, Wolf slide. but they were used into the 90's. Other slide is a Boy Scout slide, not used by Cub Scouts or Webelos until they became Boy Scouts. About hunting scout camps, etc., you will need permission to do so. The local camps around here run all year long (weekends in Fall, Spring, Winter) and they don't like "outsiders" on scout property. (Boo...Hiss). I am a registered leader, and I STILL need to ask permission to go on scout property at times other than when I have "official" scout business. Haven't tried to hunt a camp as yet, don't know if it is worth the hassle.

Just my 2 cents....

Anita
