Found something petrified egg like?

Give some more info like environment it was found in, a river, a cave, The desert, the mountains,the beach.We need a little more info.It could possibly be part of a pocket that didn't form any gems like tourmaline.When miners were searching for tourmaline when they found pockets it sounded like glass breaking then they would slow down and go through the pocket they found to pull out crystals .The brown parts could be smoky quartz and the white could be Milky quartz it would have formed in pockets although I have never seen it like this I have only seen the formed crystals.

It was found in a creek there is a mostly quartz geodes in it. Runs along a main road in virginia.
