Started with a Minelab xterra 505. Then Equinox 600 with stock coil, xl coil and sinper coil depending on circumstances. Now use a manticore mostly or oversized coil on equinox.

Found Sunday. Decorative bracket shard?

First off I'm new here. I've had a detector for a year and a half. However, I just got serious about doing the research find good sites the last 3 month. Found the decorative "bracket" shard sunday. The whole one the week before at the same site. Any clue on use? They both had nails through the holes on the ends. Wouldn't fit in the case that way. Seem to be brass. Site goes back to at least 1876 house wise. Earliest map with a house on it I've found so far. Lot of Victorians in the town.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Furniture hardware I'd say. Those are always interesting to find.

Cool relics, congrats! :occasion14:

Nice job on the relics, and welcome to the forum.

Thanks all. I've found a lot in a small lot. Signals on top of signals next to big iron chunks. 1930s silver plated fork in the same hole as iron door hinges yesterday. Tough going but thank God for small coils switching over really helped. Can't believe they lost three escutcheons and these furniture brackets and I haven't found a single key yet. Unless you count the Toyota and Ford keys I found....

I see the part of a door lock could be all part of a door deco Sounds like you found a good spot to hunt. Keep posting your finds .....Tommy

Welcome to tnet also

Neat piece. Don't know what it went on, but decorative hardware from the Victorian era is always cool to find.

Here is my favorite piece found recently:

That is amazing! This was a few feet from the brackets. Guess it could have gone together? Due for a group shot of everything I've dug here in the last 3 weeks. Its been a box of firsts. The area has a history of flooding so I'm unsure what really started out life there and what washed in. Met the wife of a local detector there a few days ago. Seems her husband found a crotal /petal bell with the same pattern as mine there. So it's turned into a friendly competition. I have the advantage of the small coil. His wife said they don't make one for his simplx yet. Hard to get permissions near me. People are very uppity about their lawns.
