Went to a Wheat Stubble Field which is a Roman Site we were interested in completing what we call 'proving the limits'. Basically finding the extremes of the Roman Site by gridding in every direction until the finds totally run out. This is our 3rd year on this site & we are now happy that we have proved the limits with the last 4 Roman Coins we found. This means after a deep plough we will concentrate on the hotspot & no worry how much further the finds might extend.
WWII 'ARP' - Air Raid Patrol Button
Victorian Navy Button
Flowered Tombac Button
Nice complete large 17th Century Button with drilled shank.
This took 3.5 hours & on the way home Dad suggested a 30 mins hunt on a ploughed & rolled field, I disagreed & said to do the opposite one which was in stubble. Glad I did as I somewhat saved the day with a nice Medieval Buckle, a type I have never found complete
