I found this buried on an old farm. Approx 6 inches deep. I thought at first it was a weight from a scale but then I saw the holes and thought it could have been part of an old electric motor except there are no windings and now I rinsed it off there is nothing electrical looking about it. This is heavy and has a steel core and rod, a steel middle and some sort of non metallic brittle materials on either end. It looks like granite but it chips off in small granules. The land has history from the Civil War up to the early 1900's. Then the land went unoccupied until this day. I am at a loss. Help? Thanks.
