Hello Everyone,

I found what looks to be a bullet shell underneath super old bridge in Massachusetts with my magnet. I was wondering if any members could recognize exactly what it is, or what it could possibly be. It was found in a freshwater river so I would think that it is pretty old and has been down there quite some time. Thanks!

it's made of steel . I've never seen a steel bullet casing. I'd think it was a nozzle of some type.

The small round hole in the 4th picture does remind me of some sort of nozzle.

reminds me of the old vaccine tips for livestock .. would have gone on a glass plunger and had a needle on the pointy end .. just a guess.

I would say foot/final from a wooden pole or leg for something? The hole would be for a nail. surveyor tripod?

Thank you everyone for the quick responses, and warm welcome to the forum! It is awesome to hear what everyone might think it is. I can't wait to get back out there and find some more! On that note does anybody have a guess on how old it might be? Thanks!
