This is certainly interesting creskol, so I've been revisiting your thread since you posted it a week ago. Did you happen to take any other pics or can you give us an idea of the dimensions? 
It looks to be made of either brass or possibly lead, so it was probably made to hold a memorial wreath or some other type of flower arrangement in place?

What it looks like to me is single side stained glass came... perhaps it was used in a flower arrangement or something else like it.... perhaps to hold a card even.
