Wow! I have been throwing those back in the coin jar since I had always thought they were only worth 25 cents. I was only focused on '64 and before. How many have I handed back to the bank over the years?
Same with me, I think this site is reputable Ive used it many times to check my coins there are also some other recent coins that are collectible. Anyone know why these are so collectable Tommy
Just a theoretical value. It's worth what someone will pay for it. A gem uncirculated I a slab might be worth $35, but it would cost you that to get it slabbed. If you save up a dozen of them and buy a silver Washington quarter you'd be ahead of the game. Outside of it's face value, there is no numismatic value in a 1965 quarter. There are no buyers.
They're worth a quarter each up to mint state. I see MS-65's listed at $9. For $35 it better be a 67 or above. The 1965 is the most common date that can be found in the Washington quarter series. Over 1.8 billion issued. That's 350 million more than were issued for all 5 varieties in 2013 including proofs and silvers. Somebody pulled that pricing out of their north end while southbound.
Ill be pissed if i have to sort through the hundreds in change I have and dig out all those 65's ive been chucking in there...I sometimes doubt that website as a guide to value...
