I can read ENLISTED FOR THE WAR and ?.C.W.C. (American Civil War C?). I think the first letter could be an A but you stated it's a H. Obviously you can see it better in hand.
Possibly a Civil War veteran lapel pin.
I believe that is very accurate, I am in Whitley county, just north of Huntington county. That is great information, I was stuck. Thank you very much 😊👍There are a few like it showing on Worthpoint and the sellers indicate they date to WWI and the W.C. stands for "War Chest." Searching Indiana/Illinois, I did find a 1918 article about the Marion County War Chest issuing buttons/badges, and also a Huntington County War Chest showed funds paid to Whitehead & Hoag for buttons. This could be your H.C.W.C. (Huntington County War Chest), but this is just speculative.
