Thank you any ideas on the age of mineIt's part of a tap (now know as the cartridge).
The handle would of been on the top end.
The section (still filled with dirt) is what allows the water/liquid to flow through when the handle is turned.
Here's a faucet that looks similar from where your recovery is from.

Not certain if this applies to plumbing equipment, but I understand that fasteners (nut and bolts) started moving from 4 to 6 sides in the early 1900s. This item has a 6 sided nut on it.Thank you any ideas on the age of mine
