I found this big rock its maybe 3 feet or 2 feet wide its a perfect circle...my phone died so i couldn't take a pic of it but drew what it looked like have an idea of what it could be but want some input on it.

Is it rock or concrete?

Is that a hole in the middle, in your drawing?

If it is a hole and it's concrete, then it looks like an outdoor umbrella stand.

its a grinding stone. the square in the center was where a rod went through it. It should be 2 or 3 inches thick. Made of sandstone around here.

I would say its abt that thick...and I did look that up but all the pics show the side of it straight not slanted so thats what is confusing me

It's slanted if the old boy was sharpening stuff at an angle. That's my swag, I know nothing about potters wheels.

Bountyhunter2013, you have definitely found a grinding wheel. If it is in good shape, it is a valuable relic and folks like me use them for garden decorations. Here are a couple of mine, both of which are slightly slanted on the outside rim, because the previous owners sharpened their tools that way, like BosnMate described above. Happy Hunting, Sub
