North of Buena Vista. A few old mines here but never went big time like farther north at Leadville. A little rain yesterday, but still smoky skies, and smoke from California, where they're in worse shape than us, is drifting in. Didn't see anybody on the river but almost every camping spot was occupied.

It's a good time of the year to pan a little gold in the Arkansas. I went through Moab yesterday and it's really down for this year tourists season. Merchants say it's the worst they've ever seen. With Corona and all the fire's seems no one is going to the Colorado plateau. I stayed in Green River, UT night before last and ate dinner at a place called Ray's Bar, which should've been packed with four wheelers, mountains bikers and boaters , but not this year. The owner was just shaking his head in despair of how things are this year.

I plan on headin out to Moab in a couple of weeks with my son after Labor Day, TR. The wife and I stayed at that little campground in Green River one time. Very nice place, not crowded, and I didn't have to pay a day use fee in addition to camping fee. Close to the railroad tracks. Found out a train runs through there about every hour at night and we were close enough it shook the ground. Still a nice campground.
