Frame of Triangles

This frame of triangles is loosely patterned after the serpent mound in Ohio. The frame was put together by a collector who cherry picked high grade pieces from Ft. Ancient and other woodland and mississippian collections. Most of them are from Ky. and Oh. and surrounding states. Materials I recognise are Boyle, Carter Cave, Flint Ridge, Sonora, Hughes River. Last couple pics are some close ups that show the quality of individual points.

Dude, I'm impressed. Thats one of the finest groupings I believe I've ever seen. many look like they were never put into action, excellent workmanship and material too.
It's funny how in different parts of this american land mass the lithics can vary by time. The triangular form shows early in this area's past ( early triangular) then you don't see much as a finished product untill arrowpoints came around. Covintons and Friday knives being the exception around the mid archaic on. Nice stuff for sure, Thanks G.

Fishing Guntersville I won with like 22 lbs for 5 fish. Biggest around 8 ish Here is a average fish from Guntersville and points associated with that area. So may types.. I have a lot more but have the concave bases and ears? The quality of the knapping can really be good at times.

Very nice man. Nice wallhangers and well flaked, thin triangulars. There are some real beauties in that handful. From what I've been reading the typical Guntersville has a straight base, but there are examples with concave bases. Thanks for sharing the pics...and Congrats on a Guntersville lake win, that's impressive.
