Franklin half reverse strike through error?

I found this one today. What do you all think, a strike through error or not?

I am not an expert on that type of error but my "expert" opinion is that it is a lamination errror.

Definitely not struck through, and with the bunching of the metal at the top of the bell and the clean lines at the bottom of the area in question, I would have to say post mint damage.

i'm no expert but that mark looks exactly like the marks i see on coins in "todays finds" that have been hit with a digging tool.

I really do not think it is lamination. Look at the blob of metal in the middle of U in Pluribus, and the steep cut above the E. This was made by a scraping motion.

I would rule out the die error. It looks like a scrape from a screw driver or other flat edge tool. I could be wrong.

IMHO.

It can't be a after mint scrape or a gouge because the features would be scraped away. They (all the letters) are still there which makes me believe this happend in the stamping process. It looks like part of a shoesting or twig got pressed into it at the mint.

I'm just saying.

That's what makes me think it is an error and not post mint damage. A scrap with a screwdriver, sharp object, etc would remove lettering, dots, and other features.
