Hit up a site that has yielded a pair of Confederate Script C Cavalry buttons in the past and ended up digging what I believe is a civil war era pistol. Gonna take quite a bit of electrolysis to get the crud off but I'm anxious for the results. Hopefully it's not a cap gun. I'm not familiar with the style of the handle but it appears to resemble a pepperbox style pistol?

On the way back to the truck I was able to eyeball a clay pipe bowl. I've found quite a few of these on the surface of riverbanks but I've never found one with any type of insignia or logo. This one had a masonic emblem on it though. After going online I found a similar piece which was found by a diver nearby which closely matches this one

Thanks for looking!

outstanding finds.look forward to seeing gun cleaned up

Maybe your on the path to some free mason treasure hoard
That gun looks real to me, probably was a single shot percussion pistol.

THAT is awesome. Love the masonic pipe! :D
The gun is awesome too, can't wait to see it cleaned up!

That pipe is one sweet find. Congrats.

Electrolysis might help that "gun"...

Great pipe bowl! It'll be interesting to see the results of the electrolysis.

Looking forward to seeing that pistol after cleaning!

I wonder how much that pipe bowl would fetch from a masonic collector. Great find!

way cool masonic pipe

That pipe IMO is a banner all day long.

WD.

Thanks guys. The second pipe pic is the one the diver found. Mine isn't in as good of shape. The triangle, square and "G" are visible though so I'm sure that's what it is. I'll post some better pics of the possible pistol once it's cleaned up.

SWEET pipe gheenoe78! Does your's also have the eagle on the other side? If so, would be cool to see another picture of that side. Really awesome that yours has the masonic symbol on it too.

Not sure what it is about these old clay pipes, but they are right up there with shoe buckles as one of my favorite things to find. I've only found two complete pipe bowls and two bowl fragments, but when you can see the charred part of the clay on the inside where the tobacco was, it really makes it a personal relic. Probably why I think they're so cool. Awesome find man.

That pipe is awesome!!! I've not found one yet but it is definitely on my wish list. Personal items like that are hard to beat in my opinion. Keep us updated on the pistol. Congrats

Wow that pipe is a killer find. I'm thinkng that it would be a Banner find to me. That has to be a very scarce piece. Love it

DANG THERE GHENOO NICE CW FINDS ....

Then let's get this thing across the top :laughing7: My banner vote is in- hopefully you can take another picture showing the reverse.
