frequence ajustment

On some detector you can adjust the frequency what do they mean.I seen on the classic 3 by White's you can adjust the frequency. Is that to help when hunting close to other people with the same detector.Can you use it to tell higher conductivity from lower conductivity targets.You know like the new vision you use diffrent frequency to tell what you found by witch frequency it favors on the target.Or E'm I missing something Or thinking to hard. Please some one out there help with this. liftloop

you got it right the first time, its a slight shift to allow you to hunt with some one with a similar freq. machine, could also help with other interferences
