A broken Mano....Odd thing is that the under side seems to have been used after it broke..Its pretty smooth.

Nice Geo. Why did they leave the cortex on some of them and other times remove it? I dont find many with it on.

I can't comment on exactly what someone was thinking when a ancient tool was made but in my finds if the cortex was left there for any reason other than it just didn't matter if it was there..... seems like it was usually in an area that a rough surface for gripping when working with bloody hands would come in handy.
