Really neat finds. Love the "weight"; hoping others may identify.

Nice finds ! Love the double clipped Hibernia, but the other item is intriguing.
What is the weight of your "weight" ?

didn't have my scale with me with him - heading to Jamaica so no way for me to weigh it for him

Nice weight Casper, looked at a couple different sites but no exact match. That's a nice keeper! The clipped copper is a cool find also.

looking forward others ideas about that square...
wouldn't 6 penny would have been abreviated 6d in those times ?

That patina on that is beautiful.
By the look of it I would say your estimate of age would be correct. Wish I could help you on the ID though.
Have a fun trip, and I hope you come back with a boat load of rings!!

If it were a 6 Penny Weight it it would need to be close to 9.33g, is it?

Is the reverse blank with filing marks?

Reminds me of a gaming piece...

Does the other side of the weight have a stamp? They often carried an official marking. I'm thinking by the size it's 6-pence. Anyway, great find. I love the way they drew the 6 back then.
