From Northern California and recently brought a Garrett AT Pro. Long time history buff and always interested in finding stuff in general. I love to hike and get out of the house. First find at the local middle school? Steel Necklace....Rest of the night? A bunch of trash.

Hi, nice to see new folks on here. You are experiencing reality show withdraws as you are actually out hunting he he. Digging trash is part of it, sometimes it mask a good target. If you dig it all you dont have to detect it twice. There is plenty of help on here on how to set up your machine to get the most out of it. You are in a great area to detect, get to know your local laws if there is any. Now you need a good pin pointer, digger, and a hat. Look forward to your finds.
