From outer space??

One of my friends grandfather found this ages ago.. doesn't look like any rock from the area.. they thought it might have fell out of the sky.. I don't know.. it's not magnetic but is very heavy.. any ideas? Thanks!

i agree. outside looks cherty. though probably a staining...concretion due to grainy texture....imho
