After yesterday's complete bust I figured I would just swing a bit in the backyard. Not expecting to find much because I've been through it many times over the last few years but at least I wouldn't have to travel far. After a bunch of trash I got a strange bounce on the at pro. In the woods it would be a shotgun shell head stamp and I suppose it the parks it would be like a pull tab. Out comes this little 10k ring. I couldn't believe it and hey it's fits. Well it went on but wouldn't come off. Ended up breaking it. Oh well. After that I thought with this kind of luck I should head to my mill site I've been hammering the last few weeks. Set my stuff down and just as quick as I turned the machine on I got a quick little high tone hit. Dug and dug and dug but nothing still in the hole. Kept digging and finally a Fugio pops out. Knew what it was as soon as I saw it. Put the coil over the hole and its still ringing. Turned my cell camera on and dug some more. 1795 liberty cap. Ok wow. Checked the hole. Still hitting. Next 1788 connecticut copper. Checked the hole and another connecticut copper. Checked the hole and that was it. How's that for a spill? I'm still in awe. The rest kinda just came along throughout the next two hours. Happy hunting.

I was having trouble getting the photos to load so we'll see how it goes.

Nice! Thanks for sharing...

looks like you had an awesome hunt, really nice finds

A great bunch of finds!!

The 1795 is a Sheldon 76b IF it has a plain edge, if it has a lettered edge it would be a Sheldon 76a, the 76b being the most common of all Liberty Caps whereas the 76a would be a rare variety. Odds on it is plain edge, I have found the identical variety (76b)

Congrats on an awesome hunt and finds! I am hoping the the 1795 LC has the reeded edge! However, in any case, that many Early Copper finds in one hunt and especially finding a 1787 Fugio Cent should rate a Banner in anyone's book. Now, you just need to clean up the Fugio enough the determine if it is one of the more rare Varieties. Banner vote will be sent.

Now that is a coin spill:headbang: I bet your excitement was peaked when there was still a signal after the 3RD copper. Congrats on a SUPER find !

What an amazing day at the office. If you have the lettered edge on that LIberty Cap, please post a photo. Banner day.

Thanks everyone.

Don, it is a plain edge. Thanks for the ID.

Huntsman, I'm working on the fugio now. All I have is "States" is on the right side but ill figure it out by the end of the night or someone else will.

Vermont, I was excited when I heard the first signal. No happy dance but I turned the camera on very quick. Too bad I'm terrible at taping or I would post. And there may be some language not suitable for tnet.

One of the Connecticut's is a miller 16.3-n. common.

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow! what a stellar spill of coins. Finds like this really give you an idea of how coins circulated back in the 1700s. Amazing!

Are you kidding me man! Holy mother that is a crazy hunt. Didn't you just respond to a post about not finding crap? Ha ha man one of those coins would make my year. Huge congrats to you brother....I am super happy for you BANNER

Yes I did! Honestly I was feeling pretty down about the other day. It was such a far hike and to come home with nothing was tough. I wasn't even going to go today but I'm glad I did. Thanks for the vote.

Damn what a pocket spill and it gets better, nice job brother ...

That is one heck of a spill and the Fugio and Large Cent are very nice examples. Congrats and banner vote from me!

Here's is the fugio. Cleaned up a bit but not sure if I'm going any farther. Thanks again everyone.

outstanding!!!

Sweet Spill, all those great coppers in one hole. That chain cent looks fantastic for being in the ground over 200yrs. Wow!

What an incredible spill!!! One of THE best Fugios I've seen on here. Must have been protected more than the others. Variety is Newman 15-Y, Scarce.... Die break in Dial to lower right base is present. Actually pretty easy to ID for me because of the condition! One of MY wish list finds. Excellent Tom.......EXCELLENT!

Don't even have words for it. Now that my friend would be on "My best day detecting" list for the rest of my life. Have to just "CONGRATS" because Tnet has rules and won't let me say what I want.

That's a whole lot of coppers... Awesome job..
