FULL MOON + DEEPER COINS ?

As far as fishing I think it might have some validitate. As to whether it makes coins sit up and bark. I dunno. HH

There is one site I was working, that I would find more coins around the full moon period, then the rest of the month. So I went back after a brake and stated finding more coins around the full moon again. Maybe my six sense is stronger at that time.

Everybody knows that silver is easier to find during the full moon... and orange coils find more gold... ::)

I have found some great coins during full moon hunts...

Fishing and shelling make sense, as those creatures evolved under the influence of the tides. But there is no logic that would indicate that metal detecting is any different under different phases of the moon. Electromagnetic induction is in no way affected by any gravitational influence. At least, not at the energies of a metal detector -- heck, not at the energies of the largest, most powerful particle accellerator on earth! (There is some evidence that gravity and electromagnetism may have influenced each other during the big bang, but once the universe was 1/10,000,000,000,000,000,000th of a second old, things cooled down enough to the point where they no longer did.)

I suppose if silver was easier to find during a full moon.
Then that would more than likely explained the absence of Werewolves now days. HH

The water table rises during certain moon phases. If the water table is close to detecting depth there could be an improvement. I suppose it depends on the amount of salt or minerals.

Actually, you raise a valid point. I only see it making a difference, though, where the water table is within a few feet of detecting depth.

When the water table rises, ionic gases are forced towards the surface. These are electrically conductive at least to some degree. I don't know if this would be enough to improve an MD signal, but it's at least a remote possiblilty.

That is a possibility that I can acknowledge, and would be scientifically testable, should we feel the need. Good point.

boy, I'm glad I bought a tesoro, you minelab guys are crazy! Actually I may do some research into this,it's like fishing, any advantage is a good advantage.

BeDoP you find more coins during the Full Moon Phase, I guess that means you MD at Nite, when the moon is up and/or overhead? or during the day? or both? Also are these silver gold or clad coins? Gold and silver have properties that we don't fully understand.

I have been going out early in the morning to beat the heat, the can dump that I have been detecting is old, so all I have been finding is copper and sliver. I just found three penny's and a Haitian Campaign metal, you can see them on today finds. It just seams that I can go over close to were some goods are more then I can the other parts of the month. voodoo Ha Ha. Bebop

Well dosn't the tide go further out during a full moon? If anything you can hunt father out into the ocean.

Aside from the Vampires and Werewolf jokes with a full moon. I love to hunt at night and a full moon just makes it nicer. Haven't noticed any difference in detection depth unless you just remember a certain coin more because of the moon phase.

i had a post like this about 6 months back got about the same feedback

Don't know about depth but seems like you have more dirt left over after hole is filled??
