Today I dug 5 pieces of Jewelery in one nice area of hard bottom. Glad I was not wearing booties because when I felt some tiny shells on the bottom I slowed way down and dug 5 targets there. I had to pick one bracelet up with my toes because it kept noodling out of my scoop.

I think one might be 10k, but it's not marked so maybe not. Not sure what they other two are, but even with diamond compound and a buffing wheel I could not get the braided ring to polish out completely. The smallest ring seems to be silver (based on how it cleaned up), but it's marked "INDIA" and nothing else so it could be fake too. Still a fun hunt. Clearly I need to move to a higher end beach.

You can't replace the rush you get when digging bling. It lasts until the truth comes out. Congrats on a great day at the beach enjoying your passion.

Congratz on a fun hunt!

So is it the bracelet you think is 10k or the gold ring? What's the weight on the gold ring, I got a couple that are that nice gold color...unmarked, but Tungsten.

Well, maybe both. The braided bracelet seemed to be brass... it was very tarnished and cleaned up slightly with brasso. The chain bracelet came out shiny.. but just a very slight patina. When I dipped it in lemon juice it came out very shiny. The clasps are high quality.. I think it *might* be 10k, but it is very very slightly attracted to a strong magnet. I did some research and found that some 10k items are slightly magnetic because of the metals they add to increase the strength of the chain, but my gut feeling is that it is brass and plated with gold. So I dunno on that one.

The ring, came out black, but when I dipped it in lemon juice it instantly turned gold again. So I suspect 10k.. but it's not marked. The outside is a nice white/pearl band with colorful flakes inside it. Hard to see in the photo.

The ring is 2.1g
The chain is 30.5g

Nice! That ring looks gold!

Looks like total fun after a hard days work! Congratulations on getting out!
