Found this a few years ago at a spot that yielded relics from 1700s to today. It's some kind of tool, but does anyone know its specific purpose and approximate age? I'm guessing it's some kind of tool for nuts? The number on the front looks like 148. It's about 9.5 inches long, 3.75" wide at the wide end.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

It is a 'Multi Square Wrench', probably went to a wagon or buggy.

Have seen similar wrenches used with everything from welding/cutting to woodworking to outdoor equipment to gas meters to plumbing. Flea markets used to have them a dime a dozen. ...Does that tell you how long it's been since I've been to a flea market? :laughing9:
