HAHA! been away for so long all most forgot how to post photos..Anyway its been to cold and wet here to md for me. So I have once again been pilfering pocket change. Here are my newest finds, Three Canadian Coins, Two large one small...one says on back Half Penny , features a boat, the other says New Pence with a crown of feathers type thing and a number 2 under that. The small one says New Penny a crown and 1/2 under that. BTW! this is on the back side of coin. All have photo on front of Queen? Elizabeth II.

Then my two pilfered Mercury Dimes..{thanks dad}..

and the weird coin he says is from Korea, he was given this Coin. But was hoping I could get a better Idea from y'all about what it is and where it came from.

ALSO: I'm slightly peeved at the coin shop owner for blowing me off once again, apparently I'm not a good enough customer for him to help. SOOOO.. any one have any suggestions as to how i could find a coin Buddie/ some one to go over my coins with me....maybe exchange info.

Thank you

The round one with the square center looks to be a chinese cash coin. Time to time folks here in the US find them MDing.

These are all coins from Great Britain. In 1971, the UK replaced their centuries-old pounds-shillings-pence coinage with the modern decimal coinage used to this day.

First coin in picture, top left:
Great Britain, 2 pence, made of bronze (http://tinyurl.com/2klqtn). This one is from the early decimal period. "New" pence differentiates it from the pre-decimal old pence that was still around at the time. This coin is still used in the UK.

Second coin in picture, smaller one to the right:
Great Britain, half pence, made of bronze (http://tinyurl.com/355tvg). Another early decimal coin, discontinued in 1984.

Third coin in picture, lower left:
Great Britain, half pence, bronze (http://tinyurl.com/2ob2sm). This half cent, unlike the smaller one, is from the pre-decimal era. Discontinued along with all pre-decimal coins in 1971.

Yes... Chinese, Japanese, or Korean...

I have been having trouble finding the charactors to match with the coin. The two parallel lines is Chinese for the number "two" (2) but the rest is lost to me... I have no idea... I spend well over two hours researching this today with no luck. :(

This is the first oriental coin that has stumped me and my internet research skills... LMAO :P

top photo is britsih bro
several countries us elizibeth II this confuses many people.

I almost had it narrowed down when i saw the Korean post.
this coin you have pre dates any coin in my world coins book.

Ok, so I spent some time on the Museum web site and I belive I have found a match. Thanks for all the help. I copied picks of the coin on the Museum web sight, so I hope they work on here.

Here's a link as well, hoping it works..hehe! The first two photos are from the Museums web site of there coin, on the front top of thiers, is what seems to be a matching mark on the front of mine, but hard to tell with the wear, the back of thiers looks Identical to mine. (the pic of my coin front is up side down, so the blob left/mark that is or may be compairable to the front of the Museums coin is on the bottom..hehe)

Thanks
